An all out holistic approach has been adopted by the PEACE to ensure sustainable rural development through an empowered, self-reliant and informed village community since its inception in 1994. Realizing that the direct involvement of the community is essential and prerequisite for successful implementation of the rural development projects, PEACE has made commendable efforts in achieving its cherished goal of higher inclusive growth through community empowerment. PEACE has over the years substantially contributed to address the numerous problems of deteriorating environment, illiteracy, poverty, unemployment, alcoholism, shrinking of water bodies and poor irrigation in its own small but meaningful way.
Gajapati district of Odisha, due to its unique geographical location and tribal concentration is no doubt potentially rich in natural resources but unfortunately all these resources are yet to be properly exploited for the benefit of its poor people and back ward villages. It is my pleasure to share with you that we continue to place special emphasis on supporting the efforts and development of disadvantaged communities through various community development interventions in close collaboration and partnership with potential stakeholders at different levels. I express my sincere gratitude to all our funding partners for their generous support. I am also thankful to our esteemed communities for their confidence in PEACE to carry forward the development process. Lastly, with an anticipation of support and co-operation from all potential stake holders, I promise to continue our good efforts for the cause of disadvantaged and weaker communities.
