Disaster Management Plan means prevention of threat of any disaster reduction of risk of any disaster or its consequences.
The Gajapati District face risk of Flood, Drought, Cyclone and Land Slide, Heat Waves etc., since last 7 years. Many times the disaster incidences had been occurred suddenly which could not be addressed promptly by the District Authority.
Hence the State Disaster Management Cell, Odisha made plan to do survey the villages and set a disaster management plan sitting with the concern villages to do prompt action and communicate suddenly to Govt. authorities if any disaster will be faced by the village. PEACE has allotted 109 villages of Mohana and Nuagada Block by the District Disaster Emergency Operation Center, Gajapati during the Year 2020-2022 to form the village disaster committee through which the Government can help the people immediately at their disaster.
The Volunteers of PEACE successfully completed 109 village disasters management plans sitting with the local people and submitted same to the District and Block Authorities.
